A Morning Lesson in Stillness
One Sunday morning, I woke up in a rare state of relaxation—no rush to send children to school, no patients waiting, no office duties for my husband. It was a morning of pure calm.
As I began focusing on my breath, a mosquito buzzed near my ear with its tiny “woow” sound. My attention shifted. A thought arose: “Let me clap and kill this mosquito so I can return to meditation.”
But then another thought followed: “Why destroy a small universal creature just to meditate?” I chose silence. The mosquito left on its own.
That moment taught me: Meditation is not about control—it is about patience, pause, and restart.
🌸 The Power of Pause & Restart
Meditation is not confined to the cushion—it is a way of living. Every pause is a chance to restart with patience, presence, and peace.
Everyday Examples of Pause & Restart
Lift Doors – Instead of pressing the “close” button impatiently, allow the doors to shut naturally.
Traffic Signals – When waiting at a red light, pause instead of honking or rushing—use that moment to breathe.
Conversations – Before reacting in anger or haste, pause, listen fully, and then restart with calm words.
Technology – When your computer or phone lags, instead of frustration, pause and restart—solutions often come with patience.
Parenting – When children test your patience, pause before scolding, restart with empathy and guidance.
Daily Chores – If a task feels overwhelming, pause for a breath, restart with renewed focus.
Eating – Instead of rushing meals, pause between bites, restart with mindful chewing and gratitude.
Work Pressure – When deadlines feel heavy, pause to re-center, restart with clarity and prioritization.
Nature – When a distraction arises (like the mosquito in my story), pause, accept it, restart with awareness of the present.
Self-Judgment – When negative thoughts arise, pause before spiraling, restart with compassion toward yourself.

🌼 PSSM Teachings
The Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement (PSSM) teaches meditation as a simple yet profound path to self-realization.
Their core practice, Anapanasati—observing the natural breath—requires no rituals, no external aids. Just awareness.
Through this practice, every pause becomes a restart, and every restart becomes a step toward inner awakening.
🌍 Closing Reflection
On this International Meditation Day, let us remember:
To pause when thoughts overwhelm us.
To restart with patience and compassion.
To live in the present moment with one-pointed focus.
Meditation is not about fighting distractions—it is about befriending them, just as I befriended the mosquito that morning.
